Heartbeat is starting a new contest for USA, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand members only (Other countries contest will be launch soon). Each week, from March 10th until December 31st 2012, a drawing will be held. The winner will receive a $100 cash prize.
How can you enter? Simply “Login and win!” It really is as simple as that. A winner will be chosen at random each week from all those who are logged in to the system. You must be logged in, and have a complete profile with your photo to win! Drawings will take place randomly during the week and winners will be posted on Sunday evenings. The winner will be notified through their registered email address. To avoid any fraud, the check will be mailed to the winner US, Canada or UK address that is in the system at the time of the draw.
That’s not all! The winner gets a chance to win an additional $100. All he has to do: Post under his profile here, a food related blog that gets at least 10,000 views within 3 months after his official winner announcement.

Gourmet Heartbeat is pleased to announce the final results of its International Appetizer Contest! Back in June we held our first contest in Ottawa Ontario, where contestants were invited to cook an appetizer from the Gourmet Recipe website. At the event, all guests judged who they thought made the best appetizers and awarded some great prizes that night.
The contest continued into the next several months where a webpage was set up for visitors of Gourmet Recipe to come and vote for their favourite appetizer from the contest. The contestants had their friends and family come to the website and vote for them and the winner would receive the grand prize of $2,000! With an amazing 15,798 votes, Lindsay Beaudoin was the winner! Lindsay made Turkey Meatballs for her entry to the contest, and was well deserving of the final grand prize. Gourmet Heartbeat has started initiative to involve local communities world-wide with the appetizer contests.
The first of these contests was held in Ottawa, Canada. The participants had a lot of fun and innovative ways to present their preparations.

Gourmet Heartbeat contributor Genevieve Bouchard has claimed first prize in our "win an iPad" contest for her post about an hors d'oeuvre competition she and her friends hold annually.
Genevieve's post told members of the online forum how she and her husband, Joel Beaudry, came up with the idea of judging hors d'oeuvres created by their diverse group of friends as a way to add "a little touch of magic" to the gray winter months.
Among the hors d'oeuvre offerings, Genevieve, wrote, was a cheese plate presented as a hockey rink with figurines.
Gourmet Heartbeat was looking for stories from our members that connected food, good times, and family and friends.
Genevieve's husband, Joel Beaudry, and Kristina Shaleshanko, shared second place and were each awarded an iPod Touch. Joel's submission recounted the many impromptu picnics he and Genevieve have enjoyed in their relationship, including one instance in which he prepared lobsters he obtained from a local fisherman on the beach with just his pocketknife. Kristina's winning entry told of a one-time visit to a great aunt and uncle when she was 8 years old that left quite an impression.
The third place prize of an iPod Nano was awarded to Margaux Sky. She told Gourmet Heartbeat readers of an eventful 1973 trip to Alaska that included an encounter with a bear and great meals that included salmon and Margaux's version of yes, Baked Alaska.
